How to Clean Your Air Conditioning Unit

Three Simple Steps to a Cleaner, More Efficient Air Conditioner

To ensure your air conditioner maintains good air quality, it’s important the filters are cleaned regularly. Failing to clean on a regular basis can cause the unit to run less efficiently and ultimately cause higher running costs.

Follow these easy steps to clean your indoor unit.

| STEP ONE

Ensure the air conditioner is turned off then open the front cover and remove the two filters.

| STEP TWO

Now the filters are removed, they can either be lightly brushed, vacuumed or washed with a hose – all dependent on how dusty they are.

| STEP THREE

Leave them to dry before placing them back in the indoor air conditioning unit. You can also give the rest of the unit a wipe down with a damp cloth.

Now we have established a clean air conditioner is an efficient air conditioner, it’s important to note that even if you clean the filters regularly your air conditioner can harbour mould and germs deep within the indoor unit.

Having your unit professionally cleaned and maintained on an annual basis can greatly improve the efficiency and life expectancy of your system, not to mention the health benefits of not breathing in mouldy air.
